    ABQ Mindfield Film Fest

Attending the Mindfield Film Festival was the perfect way to cap the month of August.

The weekend started with a social for filmmakers that gave us a chance to meet other folks involved with the films accepted into the festival.

Friday night was when Pocha screened. It was so heartwarming to hear audience members all around us reacting to various parts of the film. It becomes so easy to get bored of seeing the movie you’ve watched hundreds of times, but there’s something about seeing it through the perspective of fresh eyes that reminds you why events like these are so important.

We attended as many screenings as we could and saw familiar faces, both in person and on screen. I enjoy getting to see all the other projects my friends have worked on, and how wide a range of films that can be created right here in Albuquerque.

I attended screenings in support of these friends but also, selfishly, I watched to be inspired. I love getting to see all the different kinds of films that can be created, with folks who are in a similar boat as I am. We’re all just regular, working people trying to get our stories told.

Plus, a weekend spent at The Guild is a weekend well spent.

We also want to congratulate our actress Teresa who plays Mom who won the Best Supporting Actress – Gold Award. And congratulations to our editor Daniel for winning Best Editing – Gold Award!
