    AFMX was a Success!

The Albuquerque Film and Music Experience has been the festival I’ve been wanted to attend since I was a college student. It was always THE festival in my mind–and it absolutely lived up to my expectations.

The week started out with a speed networking event. It mimics a speed dating event, where creatives get 5 minutes to speak with someone else to learn about what they do and what project they’ve brought to the festival. As someone who identifies as an introvert, this event was the perfect way to break the ice and allow us to socialize and form meaningful connections.

I attended a number of panel discussions featuring local professionals who have worked in the industry for years. From indie producers to writer/actors, so many facets of film work was represented. I’m grateful for the folks who shared their successes and failures on various projects which is where I feel I learned the most.

Saturday finally arrived and we got to share Pocha with our biggest festival audience to date, which was exciting to see a full house Historic Lobo Theater. What meant the most was getting to share the stage for a Q & A with our friends who made Pick Me Up and Light Sensitive (shoutout Dominick & Jackie!)

Every single filmmaker, organizer, and creative was so incredibly kind. The shared connection over nerding out about film bonds people together quickly, and I’m ultimately so thankful to have attended the 2025 Albuquerque Film and Music Experience.

I’m grateful for my team who’s supported me and this film not only in production, but throughout our festival circuit.
